After being fired from the Dallas Cowboys for a fifth straight losing season, and, excessive drinking, coach Jeff Johns (Nicholas Cage) has hit rock bottom.  His phone has stopped ringing and no one is returning his calls.  He has made a promise to his agent and best friend Kip (Billy Crystal), to take the first job offer he can get.  Jeff finally gets him a job assembling and coaching the Korean national team.  Coach Johns patches together a team from all over the country and they begin their first season in the Asian National Football League.  Despite losing all of their games, Brunson finds through them, a pure love of the game he hasn't had since he was a kid.
